Many foreigners are afraid to eat street food in Indonesia especially in Jakarta where there are many motorcycle and air pollution mixed and attack the food served in the street vendor.
I sometimes try to avoid to buy street food in Jakarta, but I think we should try once in a while street food in Jakarta and other food offered in Jakarta and other cities in Jakarta.
Last Saturday, I tried
Nasi Uduk in Jalan Tegal Parang. I found out their nasi uduk is quite good and also quite cheap compared to Nasi Uduk in Jalan Kebon Kacang.
I they also have facebook

Other vendors sell bubur ayam (I haven't tried that). The location is in front of Alfamart, and it's quite clean. Many people go there eat bubur ayam, nasi uduk and lontong sayur.
Nasi uduk literally means "mixed rice" in Betawi dialect, related with Indonesian term aduk ("mix"). The name describes the dish preparation itself which requires more ingredients than common steamed rice cooking and also varieties of additional side dishes

It has a fragrance aroma and cooked with coconut milk and different kind of herbs and spices. The taste is quite similar to Nasi Lemak in Malaysia, Brunei or Singapore.
Quite yummy!
